GHOST STORIES AND SPOOKY TALES

Adam loves to tell spooky stories and he has been a featured spooky teller at events around the world. His repertoire includes Appalachian ghostlore, regional witchlore, spooky histories, cryptid tales, and original macabre stories. His repertoire is influenced by tales heard from people met on his storytelling journeys, from other storytellers, and from archival research in audio and print collections throughout the Central Appalachian region. These stories represent the rich oral traditions and storytelling repositories of central Appalachia, reflecting a blend of cultures from around the world which have called this place home.

This part of his repertoire is generally for mature audiences because these stories can be quite spooky, involve jump scares, explore the mystery of shadows and the unknown, encounter mature themes of death, and on occasion cause bad dreams. Even if you have little ones who like scary stories, please be advised that you should wait until they are older and express that they are ready before sharing these stories with them.

Adam tells “Jessie’s Doll.”

“I felt goosebumps during the story and when I tried to sleep that night.”
